![]() Once BitPerfect stops hogging the DAC, OS X switches the default audio output device back again.Īlso, FYI, while BitPerfect is playing, iTunes is simultaneously playing back the same track to the temporary default audio output device, although the volume is muted. ![]() In your case this is the Built-In Output, which is what you see happening in Audi Midi Setup. If you have also set the same DAC as your default audio output device in Audio Midi, OS X responds by re-setting the default audio output device temporarily to another available audio output device. When the DAC is "hogged" no other App (including OS X) can access it. This guarantees " bit perfect" output, and also stops annoying system sounds from intruding into your listening experience. ![]() When BitPerfect plays, it hogs the selected audio output device. Should the output not be through the external dac in both cases? When using stand alone iTunes the little speaker and microphone are adjacent to the listing for my Young dac. When using bit perfect audio midi tells me that the built in output is active. Not sure if I have audio midi set up properly, wonder if someone can check their settings and compare.
